A year ago, we were thrilled to announce the Baja-Sonora transboundary region as our third “nest” landscape. While the enthusiasm and potential for impact in Baja-Sonora remain incredibly high, the reality of the current conservation funding landscape has caught up with us, and we are not yet in a position to launch this round of the program.

Our commitment to both of these landscapes is unwavering. We fully intend to run the Accelerator program in both Baja-Sonora and Cascadia before beginning the cycle again and returning to the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo. While we are disappointed that we couldn’t launch Baja-Sonora on our original timeline, we are actively fundraising for both nests. We have already seen tremendous interest from potential applicants across both regions, and we are not giving up on either. We are confident that we will bring the Accelerator to both of these incredible landscapes soon.
